Outrigger Island: Day Two!

We ushered in Day Two of VBS Outrigger Island with sunny blue skies and eager anticipation for the day’s activities!

During the opening session at Worship Rally Lagoon, the children pledged to the Bible and sang the National Anthem, followed by a short rehearsal by the kindergarteners with the song “God Is Real” and a prayer from Auntie Sue.
Then, the children were off to class to begin their second day at VBS. The day’s motto was “Jesus is God’s Son” and the Bible verse was taken from Matthew 16:16: Simon Peter answered, ”You are the Messiah, the son of the living God.” The children would come to know that Jesus is God’s Son and that He died for our sins and still lives!

Throughout the day, the children took turns entering Music Falls to learn the song Jesus Is, a catchy song that appeals to both the adults and the children. The actions flowed nicely and gelled well with the song. The preteens also learned The Word while the 9 and 10 year olds learned Wiki-Wiki for the Family Day Concert on Saturday.
The children will perform these wonderful songs for the parents this Saturday. Please remember to return the invitation slips that were distributed today within the next two days =D
The songs the kids learned today would help them in their lives, because they would know that Jesus is God’s son and that they can celebrate who He is because He died for us for our sins, and that He still lives. That alone should convey how Mighty and Powerful our God is! Stay tuned for Day Three’s edition of the VBS Outrigger Island newsletter. Till then, Mahalo!
