Aloha to the Hawaiian Island – The Outrigger Island, where the kids will KNOW, SPEAK, AND LIVE GOD’S UNSHAKEABLE TRUTH IN A SPIRITUAL FUN-TIME ADVENTURE through serious Bible study with encouraging real-life applications, inter-active games, worship, missions, and craft.
For 5 days, each VBS Day starts with a Worship Rally, followed by the Opening Bible Study of 40 minutes. Then by class, the kids (called wave rider) will travel (island-hop) to all the sites – Music Falls, Craft Cabana, Recreation Reef, Snack Shack and Missions Lookout, at assigned times. All will return to their respective classes for the Closing Bible study. Every VBS Day ends with a closing Worship Rally. Family Day will be on Saturday, November 29. On Sunday, all unchurched kids will be invited to Sunday school
The wave riders will learn to stand on the truths that:
God is real – God Spoke to Moses
Jesus is God’s Son - Jesus
Jesus is the only Way - Jesus’ Death, Burial, and Resurrection
The Bible is God’s Word – Jeremiah and Baruch
Their actions show what they truly believe – The Good Samaritan

VBS 20008 Prayer Requests
FBC’s VBS 2008 “Outrigger Island: Living God’s Unshakable Truth” will focus on equipping the kids with the stabilizing truths that God is real, Jesus is His Son, Jesus is the only way to receive salvation, the Bible is God’s Word, and, ultimately, their actions show what they truly believe.
This year we are also focusing on VBS as an evangelistic program for the un-churched children and their families as well as in encouraging our children and their parents to be mission minded.
Prayer Items
Please pray for/that:
- God to grant wisdom, patience and guidance for the VBS 08 committee in the planning and decision making;
- The committee learn to lean and depend on Him solely and not on our own strength;
- That the committee will do His will instead of ours;
- He will touch the hearts of the teachers and volunteers that they may come forth to serve; and
- Prepare the hearts of the children especially those who do not yet know him to be able to come and be exposed to His Word.
